Salvation

This is the most important question you will ever ask and the Bible is very clear in providing the answer.

1. First of all, you must realize that you are lost. When Adam and Eve committed the first sin, man broke relationship with God. From that time forward, everyone was born with a sinful nature. So it does not matter how good a person you are, you are lost.

By Looking at the Ten Commandments we can see we are guilty. *The best of us have lied, stolen, dishonored our parents, wanted what was another's (coveted) or broken the first by not putting God first.

These are a few reason's we are guilty before a righteous and holy God of both love & judgment. We are worthy of eternal separation from God in Hell.

The Bible says, Romans 3:23 - "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God;"

2. You must realize that the consequences of sin is death. Not just physical death, but spiritual death too, which results in being separated from God. The Bible says:

• Romans 5:12 - "Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned--"
• Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death....."

3. You must realize that God loves you so much, and believe that He gave His only Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the price for your sins. Jesus accepted the penalty of death instead of you.

• Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 5:8 - "But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
• Romans 10:9-10 - "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."
• Romans 10:13 - for, "Everyone who calls on the Name of the Lord will be saved."
• John 3:16-17 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him."
• I John 1:9 - "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

4. So in summary, in order to be saved, to spend eternal life in Heaven instead of hell, you must:

• Accept personal responsibility for your sins.
• Confess your a sinner and ask God's forgiveness.
• Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
• Believe that He paid the price for your sins and the sins of the world by dying on the cross.
• Believe that He arose from the grave, victorious over sin and death.
• Accept this personally for your sins.
• Turn toward toward Jesus and from sin.
• Ask Jesus to come into your heart and life.
• Confess openly that you have accepted Christ as your Lord and Saviour.

If you believe these things, you can pray a prayer, like the one below, to receive Jesus into your life: Prayer Father, I come to you knowing that I am a sinner. I confess my sin and ask you to forgive me of my sins. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He died on the cross for my sins. I believe that through His shed blood, I have eternal life. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul. I love you, Lord, and offer myself to You as a child of God. Help me to live for you. In Jesus' Name I ask it - Amen.

If you prayed this prayer and meant it with all your heart, You have been "Born Again" spiritually as a child of God. Your sins have been washed away and you are a new person.
